Having tutored California school kids for almost 20 years now, I've realized the importance of individualized, one-on-one instruction. It can make a world of difference for students struggling with challenging subjects. My students have told me how I've helped their confidence and understanding grow, and their test scores prove it. As every child is unique, I consult with the parents and sometimes even teachers in order to implement the best approach for each child. I also provide short-term or one-session tutoring for those who need help with a specific topic, project, or test. My favorite part is when a student has a "lightbulb" moment of grasping a concept, and that is the ultimate goal of my job.
