Hello! I am an experienced middle school science teacher that has a passion for helping young students better understand the concepts that shape our universe! I have a single subject science credential as well as Masters Degree in Education. Although I am new to virtual tutoring, I have taught and tutored many students during my career in education. I am driven by my love of math and science and making these difficult concepts easy for my students to understand. I love being a teacher, but I almost love tutoring more because I get uninterrupted one on one time with a student. This allows me to really customize lessons to fit that student's unique learning style and needs.

I really enjoy working with students and helping them achieve more then they initially thought they could. Being a full time teacher has allowed me the opportunity to learn and grow along side my students. I have really come to love tutoring because it provides me with the unique opportunity to work with a student personally oppose to having a class full of students. I especially enjoy this because I am able to watch that student grow not only academically but personally as they gain self confidence.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My availablity is very flexible and I am willing to accommodate most schedules outside of my regular teaching hours (8am-3:50pm). Please contact me with at least 24 hours notice of a desired lesson for scheduling and provide a brief description of what your student is needing help with (this allows me to plan a lesson and gather materials). Once scheduled I have a 12 hour cancelation notice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a single subject science credential and a Masters degree in education. I am also a STEM teacher and MESA coach.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard tutoring rate is priced at $35 an hour. If you have multiple students or schedule multiple sessions I do offer discounted rates.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many different types of learners. I have experience teaching advanced students, under performing students, students with 504s and IEPs, special education students, as well as English language learners.
