Math is so much fun once you get it! I love math and want to help you enjoy doing math too! I have over 25 years tutoring math to Elementary, Middle School, High School but mostly College students in advanced math where it works my brain like working out at the gym! I'm extremely patient and encouraging to my students! I'll show you step by step at your pace until you understand! My favorites are Algebra, Trigonometry, PreCalculus and of course Calculus! What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an AA 1997, BA 1999, and MA 2005. I have over 25 years of experience in tutoring all grades and levels of math.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $30/hr for any math tutoring and $20/hr for Spanish Tutoring. I'm flexible with my rate. I can give you the first 30 minutes of tutoring for free! I'm sure you'll like my style of tutoring! So try me for free! What do you have to lose?
How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring while attending college. I loved it! I learned more by tutoring than when I was in class!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have mostly worked with college students. I do have experience working with students with learning disability as well as the physically challenged! A disability is just a challenge you can overcome!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I tutored a student online in Calculus who lived in another state! After our session, he commented, "I learned more during this session than I have during the 4 weeks of class." Wow! That says a lot! It touched my heart that I was making a difference!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Experience is the key! That's what seperates a professional from a novice! Also the relationship needs to click. Do you feel safe to ask questions? Or are you afraid of asking a dumb question? No question is dumb!
