While I'm an experienced teacher with a graduate degree in education and 5 years of work in the classroom I'm still a fairly young teacher with a lot of energy and the ability to connect well with high school students. I love connecting with kids and building relationships. In my experience if kids like you and know you care about them they will work incredibly hard. Seeing my students transform in the course of a year as a student and as a person is always a great pleasure.

I love catering to my students needs in order to help them master whatever skill or level they are going for. I usually go for a more laidback and encouraging approach as I know certain subjects and topics can be overwhelming and I am always willing to learn new things with my students! I got my PhD degree in Economics from University of California, Santa Barbara in 2008. After that, I became a faculty member at a top university in China and worked there for 7 years. In 2015, I moved back to the US with my family. I am very interested in teaching and I am also very good at it. I am professional (especially in microeconomics and game theory). I am very patient. If you need a tutor, I am your best choice. I started tutoring and teaching when I was a graduate student in my PhD program 18 years ago. As of June 2025 I will be a High School Graduate. I am an AP student with a love of learning, but I have faced learning difficulties myself which is why I feel an immense passion for helping other people find their love of learning. I am very patient, understanding, and flexible. Because I am fluent in Spanish, I can help students with a variety of subjects from Language Arts to Mathematics and more!

I teach English writing, composition, and reading. I can build students' academic skills with great accuracy and students love my classes. Students will find my work promising, exciting, and easily move to the next level of success. I also work with students who wish to transfer, which means I work on transfer applications with optimum success. Students will find me a positive, encouraging instructor and I will work first by offering a placement test, which allows me to determine the skill level which I have expertise.
