Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Negotiable but starting at $35/hr
How did you get started teaching?
Started with friends needing help with math and science and from their I started tutoring others. I've worked with several programs and companies that offer tutoring services. I've also have many years of teaching experience as a martial arts instructor so I know the importance of breaking down details.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all types of students from special needs to college students with academic education to physical education.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
A teacher you can understand and most of all understands you and where you're at. A patient teacher is extremely important as well. A true knowledgeable teacher is a teacher that has a deep understanding of the subject and can explain it in many ways to anyone.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Understand what your need is. Understand where exactly your skills could use some help. If you don't know then spending enough time with a good teacher they will figure it out. If you have a specific question, understand what you don't understand. Meaning, explain to your teacher what you do understand first and then when you get to the point of confusion explain to your teacher what you've tried and thought about that doesn't work out.
