After completing a credential program I began teaching a kindergarten and first grade combo class. While teaching I was also earning a masters degree in education with a focus on reading. My thesis was a case study of a student with severe reading difficulties. Through this experience I was able to give this student the intervention instruction needed to build her reading skills successfully.
As a special education teacher I have worked with students needing intervention or are in a special education that may include these learning challenges: dyslexia, ADHD, ADD, Autism spectrum disorders , differing memory issues, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, visual disjunctions, and more.
I enjoy our local community events. There is a local farmers market. The library has a stand and gives free books to children. Our local botanical gardens provides events such as art and music festivals that I enjoy attending.
Find a teacher who understands your needs and skill levels and who wants to know your interests.
What are your methods for assessment and how often will you give me feedback on my progress?
