What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I do basic introductions, find out interests of students, why their learning English and then make suggestions on possible lessons based on their interests or target goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.S. in health education, Tesol/Tesl/Tefl certification, 10 years of ESl teaching experience and am currently an IELTS and TOEIC test preparation instructor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I tend to charge 50$ per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching while in university. It first began as a few after school classes here and there but later flourished into overseas ESL teaching and more.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught mostly intermediate and high level students with ages ranging from 16 to 60. These students come from nations such as Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and more.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently met up three other friends and we enjoyed some good eats, playing cards and watching movies for the first itme in a good while. It was loads of fun!!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask the teacher questions about their working background and make sure they have some knowledge of your expertise.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why you are learning English? How do you plan on using English in the future? What activities/ events are you most often apart of when speaking English? Who....? When do you need to be at the level of English neccessary for your target goals? Where do you find you struggle most in English learning?
