    I discuss the student's goals for the tutoring sessions.  We talk about strategies for achieving his/her goals.  We make a plan for lessons, practice, time management, and any other concerns/ideas the student has for the sessions.  I talk about my teaching and tutoring background, my education, and my goals for our sessions.

    I have taught English at the high school level for 27 years. I have tutored students (ranging from 6-graduate school) for over 20 years.  I have tutored independently, through businesses, and at colleges.  I have a Bachelor's degree in English, a Master's degree in Secondary Education, and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership.

    I do have standard pricing starting at $80 and hour. Please email me for details.
    I loved my student teaching (internship) experience at a high school in Connecticut and decided that teaching was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
    I have worked with students of all levels including remedial, ESL, ELL, students with learning disabilities, honors, AP, adult education and GRE. I have worked with students ranging in age from 5 years to college.
    I really enjoyed backpacking in Yosemite with some friends. We played Frisbee during the day, went swimming, and slept under the stars. Our campsite gave us access to crystal clear water and extraordinary views.
    Hire a teacher who is energetic, enthusiastic, creative and LOVES teaching. In terms of an English teacher, he/she should be able to provide valuable lessons in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and research. Your teacher should be able to meet your individual learning needs and goals.
