About

As a Special Education Teacher Aide, I have 4 years of experience teaching middle school and high school students of diverse learning abilities. My approach is to teach students how to be resourceful and solve problems independently. I guide students toward finding solutions for themselves through questioning rather than just providing answers.

My goal is to teach students so well that they feel empowered to tackle any challenge independently, and eventually no longer need a tutor.

Background: I am a UCLA alumnus, admitted with a Scholastic Acheivement Scholarship (free tuition). When I took the SAT and ACT, I scored above the 90th percentile in every section. I also specialize in math and sciences for middle school and high school subjects.

I am inspired by students who dream big and are motivated to put in the time and effort to achieve their goals. I believe the next generation is capable of positively changing the world if we equip them with the tools, knowledge, and resources to reach their fullest potential and share their gifts with the world.

I also help students plan and strategize for a happy future regarding majors, schools, and careers.

My son was having a difficult time with math since they dont explain anything in school anymore. Michael was the first person that actually took the time and explained why and how each step is done and repeated working with him until he understood before moving on. My son would not have passed math without Michael.

    Frequently asked questions

I have a Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA, where I was admitted as a freshman with a Academic Achievement Scholarship (tuition scholarship).

I began my career as a Special Education Teacher Aide where I found I had a knack for teaching math and sciences to high school and middle school students. I was then asked by the school principal to start an afterschool SAT program since I had scored well when I took the SAT.

I have worked with a full spectrum of middle and high school students with diverse learning abilities and needs, from advanced students who went on to receive a full-ride scholarship at CalTech to students who need a little more support with reading.
