Anuradha Tutoring
About
Hi! I am Anuradha. I have always loved providing the gift of learning through tutoring. I have been tutoring for the past five years. I am a recent grad, and graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2019. As a chemical engineer, I am constantly using math to solve problems, and in turn have an extensive repertoire of math knowledge. I am currently working in the Bay Area.
I have been tutoring since 2015. I worked as a tutor for Kumon, Keoni Learning and Assessment and Care.com and as a childcare aide for the YMCA. While I worked as a tutor for Kumon from 2018-2019, I learned how to effectively teach elementary children math and english. Working as tutor for Keoni Learning and Assessment in 2017 and 2020, I worked with children K-8 helping with a variety of subjects (English, math, history, science, etc), and kept track of children’s progress. I used and enhanced my tutoring and communication skills while working as a childcare aide for the YMCA in 2016, helping many elementary children with their homework. I would clearly explain the concept behind the problem, and guide the student to determining the answer. I worked as a tutor for Care.com in 2015, and helped a fourth grade girl with English, and worked on comprehension skills through verbal quizzes and written exercises.
I have also worked as a teachers assistant for Jayendra Kalekendra from 2013-2014, an Indian classical dance school in the Bay Area and as a teachers assistant for Shruti Swaralaya from 2012-2013, an Indian classical music school in the Bay Area. I directed a dance class and music class.
I love working with students and teaching students. I love the idea of giving the gift of learning and giving back to the community through teaching. Being able to make a difference in a child's life through learning is priceless.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I connect with the student and introduce myself. I find out what subject/material the student needs help on, and try to find out why the student needs help. I then approach the tutoring lesson, going over the problem areas and guiding the student to the right answer. I hope to tutor the student to conquer the problem areas.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching back in 2015 when I tutored a fourth grade girl in English. I have always loved working with kids, and volunteered as a staff member for the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley in 2014 and engaged with children at different stations in the museum. I am always excited to help children grow and defeat problems in new ways.
