Experienced Nursing, Pharmacology And Health Science Tutor

I have several years of experience in tutoring minors and adults in Nursing, Psychology, Test-Taking Skills and Pharmacolgy. For each student, I create personalized lesson plans for each tutoring session. I request any PowerPoints, Books and/or other documents from the students and review them prior to preparing a lesson plan. The goal is to have the student be able to understand the information/concepts well enough, that they are able to do a teach-back (teach the information back to the tutor); indicating a full understanding of the material. I create practice questions to help prepare the student for upcoming exams and help break down each question and answer.It is important to use critical thinking skills during nursing exams and in the field of nursing. I create case study’s and scenarios in which students can practice their critical thinking skills. Every correct answer is explained on why it is correct and every wrong answer is explained as well, so there is a total understanding of the concept. It takes practice to think critically. Each person receives information differently. I find out the students learning style and adjust the lesson accordingly. This could include adding videos, repetition, photos, demonstrations, tactile activities to lessons according to each student’s individual learning style.
