Get to know the student, get to know the family. Ascertain what are our goals? What is getting in the way? What makes this student tick?
Let’s drill down on current coursework. Let’s identify weaknesses that are causing issues. Let’s drill on weaknesses. Let’s address psychology that might be getting in the way on test day.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am a performing musician. My quartet recently performed for 100 adults at a senior center. You should have seen them rocking out!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The question doesn’t matter.... the key is in the listening. Does the tutor communicate with you so that you fully understand?
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
SPeak with your teacher about specific homework exercises. Did I answer this in such a way that I will earn full credit on our next exam?
