I'm a passionate believer in the power of education to transform society. I was 7 years old when I realized I wanted to become a teacher and I pursued that goal ever since. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Boston University, additional certifications in teaching English as a second language and mathematics, as well as a minor in history. I taught fourth grade in a multicultural classroom in DC public schools and I currently teach ESL online to students in China.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically, I begin by asking both the student and the parent what their goals are for our time together. This usually includes questions such as:
-Are you preparing for a particular exam? If so, when will it be held?
-Are you looking for assistance with multiple subjects or just one? Which topics are most crucial (let's prioritize together)
-Have you ever been tutored before? Would you say that it was successful? Why or why not?
We determine the goal or a set of goals for our sessions based on this information and current work and assessments.
