The service I give stands out because I know how to meet students needs by using methods that the student learns best from. I have had lots of expirience with working with kids of all abilities and who all needed personalized instruction. This is has allowed me to grow as an instructor because I am always evolving the way in which I instruct students.
My favorite part of my job is being able to see the exact moment a student fully understands how to do something. To see that moment when it all "clicks" is so moving because it shows all the effort put in by the student and the instructor has paid off. From that moment forward, students also begin to gain confidence in their abilities, and that is something that can translate into all areas in their life.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I assess where the student has learning gaps based on any information that the family gives to me. Then, I will narrow down where I need to give further instruction based on what I see when I am personally working with the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a math tutor for many years at a private Math tutoring company. I was promoted to Lead Instructor based on the many trainings I have attended and the many succes stories I have from tutoring students who were struggling in Math. I have recently recieved a bachelor's degree in Education with an emphasis in Math and currently pursing a Teaching Credential. I am well versed in instructing students based on the Math standards schools use in given areas.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students who have a wide variety of abilities. This includes students who have been behind by 3 grade levels, and students who were 2 grade levels ahead. I also use many modes of instructing students to best suit the way that they learn because education is not "One Size Fits All".
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would advise students to ask their teachers what the teacher believes they should be working on and how they can build on their knowledge.
