About
Elementary & Middle school tutor. Classes offered in: English, Mathematics, Science & Creative Writing.
The lessons will include revision of school materials to ensure understanding of the concept, focus on highlighted topics that need additional assistance, and practices to get children to comprehend the topics better. The lessons will be planned in such a way that the children will not need to be anxious about their school work after tuition and have time to play or read. For children that have difficulty focusing, my approach would be to introduce spaced learning which involves few minutes of condensed learning of the subject with short breaks in between to either play a game of chess or read poetry. If your child likes to shoot some hoops instead, that is great too!
I am currently teaching 5th and 8th graders I have been teaching them for over a year. Their fluidity in English, Mathematics and Science have improved significantly. I ensure that they grasp their concepts and emphasise the importance of an analytical approach to their studies.
I love watching light bulbs go off when children realize or learn something new. I am a young mom who previously worked as a successful Software Engineer for about 9 years and decided to pursue my childhood dream of teaching young children. My teaching style is very casual but respectful and every session will have a goal for the next. I offer 1-2 free trial classes for about 30 minutes each to ensure we are a good fit. I travel to the child's home and can work flexible hours. I am able to commit throughout the whole year and available to start in 2-4 weeks.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In my first few sessions with the student, I try to understand their problem areas and try to relate concepts with their personal interests which 1. makes the subject friendly and easy to comprehend and 2. gives the student plenty of confidence in their approach to solving problems. My teaching style is casual but respectful. And another approach would be to introduce spaced learning in which the student does condense learning for a few minutes at a time and take short breaks to play chess or read poetry. If your child likes to shoot some hoops, that is great too!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a Science and Computer Engineering major in School/College. I worked as a successful software engineer for many years and decided to pursue my other passion which is teaching young minds to thrive in the field of Science and Mathematics with emphasis on good communication skills.
