I am a scientist and engineer in the field of nanotechnology and semiconductor devices. I believe in learning by doing, and as a result, I spent most of my PhD designing and performing experiments to fabricate and characterize novel nanomaterials and devices for optoelectronics and energy conversion applications. Along with my research adventures during my PhD, I also had the opportunity to teach undergrad courses and conduct labs and discussions in electrical engineering and nanotechnology for more than 300 students. These included lectures and hands-on labs for topics such as:

Intro to Nanotechnology

After finishing school, I entered the industry as a scientist and process development engineer, and I got the chance to put my learnings into practice by contributing to the fabrication of the most efficient thin-film flexible solar cells in the world.

Having experienced both academia and industry, I believe the learning process should turn into a more enjoyable and exciting experience by putting all the abstract mathematical concepts and physical principles into a meaningful context, and this can be accomplished by framing the theory and the relevant everyday-applications together.

I am excited to share my learnings and experience with my students, from middle schoolers to collegers, and give them the chance to see “science in action” as they are learning about it!
