What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically spend the first (up to two) sessions getting to know my student, their current level and difficulties, their objectives for our collaboration, and how they prefer to learn.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a doctorate in psychology, which means a lot of patience, an ability to meet people where they're at, and a deep drive to help individuals I work with.
How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring middle schoolers when I was in HS because I always liked to explain things and help people get more comfortable with school
What types of students have you worked with?
From 12 to 40 y/o, my students have needed help with Maths, Science, English, and French
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you have a good feeling about them , the relationship you establish with them truly maters as it will make you more motivated to learn.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
