About

I provide personal, 1 to 1 tutoring which is tailored to the speeds and needs of every individual student. The key is to let the student reach the answer themselves, just with an extra bit of guidance and help.

I started tutoring my brother from a young age and went on to be a volunteer tutor at a study centre, simply because I find the experience very rewarding and I love tutoring young children, especially! However, I have also had experience tutoring students up to the age of 14.

I am patient, understanding and I never give up on any student, which I learnt from the many teachers who have never given up on me in my past, and I cannot thank them enough! And that is what I can promise you as your tutor.

I love working with students as I find it very enjoyable and rewarding, because I want my students to succeed and reach their goals just as much as they want it for themselves.

Frequently asked questions

I would first give them a short test or quiz to determine their strengths and weaknesses in the subject to figure out which areas to focus more time on.

Then, I would ask the student their preferred methods of learning because everyone learns best using different processes.

I would then create a timeline from then up until the student's exam dates and construct a tutoring structure to ensure that the classes stay on track.

I was a volunteer tutor at a math centre for a year which has given me experience working with many students.

I price my lessons based on the level of difficulty of the subject, as well as the distance needed to be travelled.

I started off by teaching my younger brother his elementary school subjects and was surprised when I discovered how enjoyable and rewarding the process was.

Soon, I became a volunteer tutor.

I have worked mostly with students aged between 5 and 14 years old, as well as a handfull of special needs children when I volunteered at a school for Autistic children.

I recently moved to San Jose to continue my undergraduate studies and was feeling homesick when my family surprised me with a visit. It was just the remedy I needed.

Make sure that you can bond well with your teacher because you will be spending quite some time together and you need to feel comfortable enough to voice all your questions. You will also need to have this bond in order to work together with your teacher towards your goal.

Also make sure that the teacher is able to tailor towards your needs and that their teaching style is compatible with your learning style.

Students should have a general idea about the goals they want to acheive and what they are expecting to get out of a particular tutoring class.

They should also have an idea about how they study best, in order for the teacher to help them in the most effective and enjoyable way.
