About

During my graduate career, I was fortunate enough to serve as teaching assistant for 13 classes across Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Engineering Sciences departments in courses focused on computing: including machine learning, C++ programming, and scientific computing with MATLAB. Recently, I had the opportunity to be the main instructor for the “CS 16: Problem Solving with Computers I” course where I developed and delivered an online course to 78 students in which I leveraged an array of teaching technologies and learning management software in my class including GitHub, Slack, Gradescope, Nectir, and online course blogs and wikis. An important aspect of this course was to foster computational thinking in students and teaching them to design the steps to solving problems by coding C++ programs.

Between 2014 2016, I was an active member of Young Women in Computing at New Mexico State University where I worked with elementary, middle and high school students on a variety of activities to instill computational & algorithmic thinking from an early age and pique their interests to pursue a career in computing. I designed engaging curriculum and hands-on projects for teaching Java, Java Script, HTML, Linux, etc. I also helped with the outreach programs including summer camps and after school programs. In 2015, I received the outstanding instructor award for my teaching during Young Women in Computing summer camp.

Python, C++, Matlab, HTML

Teaching inspires me and I want to dedicate my career to working with students with diverse backgrounds and help them to grow in their life and their careers. I am very excited about the opportunity so feel free to contact me.
