JLS Reading Tutoring

Hi, I’m Jaime — a veteran first grade teacher with over a decade of teaching experience in San Francisco, I believe that every student has the right to high-quality literacy instruction.

I hold a California Clear Teaching Credential, a CLAD K–6 Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a TESL/TEFL certificate, earned through the University of California San Diego and San Diego State University.

I've had the privilege of supporting hundreds of young learners through their literacy development in private, public and progressive independent schools across the city. My research-based, Science of Reading-aligned approach is grounded in structured, multisensory instruction, focusing on the building blocks of reading and writing to ensure a foundation for students’ academic success.

As a mom of two, I understand the importance of finding a tutor who not only has the expertise but also the empathy and understanding to support your child's learning journey. My tutoring sessions are designed to be engaging and tailored to each learner’s pace and areas for growth.
