About
Hi, I’m Luke, a physics and math tutor! Last year, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in physics (and a minor in biology) and then started a biophysics PhD program at UCSF. Since then, I decided to take a break from being a full-time student to explore medicine and other potential career paths.
I greatly enjoyed helping my peers and friends with university level math and physics during my time in college. Although I skipped high school, I've also become familiar with high school curriculum by tutoring AP Calculus and AP Physics at a tutoring center. At the center, I've also tutored elementary to middle school level math, SAT math, and ACT math+science.
As an eighteen-year-old that has recently experienced the struggles of being a student and being unsure about my career, I’ve found that I can relate to students well and get them excited about learning and setting themselves up for the future.
At the tutoring center I work at, I’ve learned a lot about teaching and been able to help several students. However, I believe I can have an even bigger impact on students by doing 1 on 1 tutoring and having full freedom/control over the instructional material I use.
My favorite part about tutoring is seeing concrete improvements in students’ grades and confidence, as well as their excitement about their progress. I hope we can make lots of progress working together!
I’m based in Pasadena and believe in-person tutoring is more productive, but I’m able to do online sessions too!
