Ryan Hakim
About
Hi, my name is Ryan, and I am passionate about teaching and mentoring students of all ages. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Biology from UC San Diego, where I developed a deep understanding of both biological sciences and psychology. Following my undergraduate studies, I pursued a Medical Doctorate at Loyola University Chicago -- Stritch School of Medicine and recently graduated in May 2024, where I further honed my expertise in the sciences, particularly in subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, and math. I am currently in the application cycle of becoming a Neurology resident and look forward to resuming my role as a tutor during the interim period.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of tutoring students from K-12, as well as mentoring undergraduates and peers in university-level coursework. My diverse experiences have provided me with the opportunity to work with a wide range of learners, from those just beginning to grasp foundational concepts to those preparing for college entrance exams. This range has allowed me to develop a tailored approach to each student, ensuring I meet them where they are in their learning process.
What sets me apart as a tutor is not just my strong foundation in STEM subjects but my ability to connect with students, understand their unique learning needs, and cultivate a motivating, supportive environment. I take pride in individualizing my teaching methods to each student’s strengths and areas of improvement, making learning accessible and engaging. Whether it’s breaking down complex scientific theories, guiding a student through challenging math problems, or helping with general study strategies, my goal is to inspire confidence and foster academic success.
If you’re looking for a tutor with a deep understanding of STEM, strong academic credentials, and a decade of teaching experience, I’d be happy to help you achieve your goals!
