Alexander The Great Tutor
About
I am a student majoring in International Studies with an emphasis on history. I plan to become a teacher later on in my life, and I see this as the perfect opportunity to build my skills while helping you achieve your goals. I specialize in World History (which I received a max score on the AP exam and retook the college class to sharpen my skills) and other courses like American History, American Government, and Social Studies. Every day, I am learning more and more to become a master in my field, and I am confident enough to pass on my knowledge to you!
My favorite part about this line of work is the ability to spread the world's wisdom into the minds eager to listen. I know that school can be hard, but it doesn't have to be! Being able to help someone get that A+ is enough to keep me in the educational realm...

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually talk to the parents to fully understand what their child is struggling with, and then I immediately begin prepping the lessons to make them bite-sized and easy for your child to digest. Once I meet them, I do my best to break the ice to get them comfortable (I know that talking to random strangers must be scary!). As the lesson commences, we would do a little wrap-up of what they learned previously to make sure that they were paying attention (and if they don't, it is totally fine, we would do a quick refresh), then move on with the day's lesson. I would have already known what they were discussing in class, hopefully, and try to simplify it for the student, answering questions along the way. We would then move onto the actual homework that needs to be done. Then we discuss upcoming schoolwork so that way I am aware, then, of course, debrief the parent about the lesson to inform them of their child's progress.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do countless hours of reading and studying the world's history because it is so fascinating to me! I have an annotated world history book that I use as my personal timeline to aid me. I took AP World History my sophomore year and received the max score possible. I eventually retook the World History class in college because I decided to major in International Studies, so I needed my skills to be as best as possible. I have also taken some American History & Government courses over the years. To show what kind of student I claim to be, I am currently enrolled in Comparative Governments, Cultural Anthropology, Cultural Geography, History of Technology, and French (I must master a language for International Studies major) courses. I average a 3.6-3.7 GPA throughout my high school and college, also receiving the Honor Roll title in high school.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always wanted to be a teacher! I find so much joy in sharing the knowledge that fills my brain. I began tutoring my friends and neighbors in high school, but now I am at the point where I feel confident enough to help teach wherever I can, even on the internet!
