Independent French Tutor
About
My name is Amanda and I am a Master of Arts (Honors) degree in French and Russian from the University of St Andrews. I leverage my language skills to help teenagers and adults learn French and become more confident in the classroom and beyond. Whether I am teaching French to beginners or complementing traditional classroom learning, I excel at tailoring my lessons to each student’s needs and goals, including pronunciation, oral and written comprehension skills, the intricacies of grammar, translation, and more. I have over 3 years of experience living and working in France and have over 7 years of tutoring experience. I have work experience as a Kindergarten, middle and high school teaching assistant and daycare supervisor, preschool French teacher, paralegal, translator, and tutor.
While working with me, you will gain not only academic support but one-on-one expertise, confidence, and success. I am known for my patient, caring, calm, friendly, and supportive nature. I look forward to working with you to help you progress!
As a proofreading tutor, I have experience in editing students’ essays and writing assignments and for editing school administration documents. I have a natural knack for grammar, punctuation, writing, spelling, and translation from French to English.
