I have been a teacher in both a traditional and an alternative high school for the past three years. My favorite day of the year is seeing the seniors walk across that graduation stage. It's my goal as a teacher for each individual student to have the opportunity to reach their goals, reduce frustration, and ultimately feel confident and fulfilled.
I enjoy getting to know my students, their interests and passions, and to help make the subject they are learning come alive.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will first ask my new students some questions. I need to know what they like and what they hate, what they think is funny, etc. This will help me to build a relationship with the student and help to make the sessions enjoyable and customized to that student.
During the tutoring process, I will ask a lot of questions. It is my role to help guide the student to find the answers on their own, whenever possible. I know that just giving a student answers does nothing when it comes time for test day.
Throughout the process, I give examples, step by step guides, and real-life connections to help learning come to life.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Master's Business Adminstration (MBA)
B.A. Interdisciplinary Humanities and Economics
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching through an organization called Teach for America in 2017. This organization helps place teachers in under-resourced, predominantlu low-income communities. Over the past 5 years I have taught grades 9-12, including two years of adult education.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a vast array of students. My classes have included many students in special education and English language learners. I taught at an alternative high school for young adults, ages 18-27. There I taught a large refugee and immigrant population.
