About

If you're looking for biology tutoring, you've come to the right place! I tutor all-things biology: AP biology, high school biology, college, etc. Through years of being a student, I’ve found methods of studying difficult biology topics that not only result in A+ grades but also build a strong foundation for students to truly understand the material.

I like to get a sense of what the student is hoping to achieve (high grade, effective studying tools, etc.) Then, I'll ask about his/her learning style, any specific areas in which they're having difficulty, and possible obstacles. Afterwards, I'll come up with a plan and discuss it with the student and/or parent and go from there.

I've worked as a tutor in New Jersey and California, doing both virtual and in-person lessons. I love sharing my passions with others and passing on what I've learned. It's extremely rewarding to help students excel and see them succeed, especially when everything's becoming more competitive.

In high school, I tutored and taught music lessons as extracurricular activities. After gaining a ton of experience and learning more skills, I eventually started working as a part-time tutor. I've worked with students of all ages and taught biology, college prep, calculus/algebra, English, reading, writing, ESL, piano, and violin.

As an academic tutor, I've worked with middle school, high school, and college students. As a music teacher, I've worked with students as young as three, adult students, and every age in between.

I recently moved from the Bay Area to Hawaii, and there were two families in particular that I became very close with while I tutored in the Bay. They always keep in contact, and I make sure to stop by if I'm ever in the area. One of my students was a 9-year-old, who made me a friendship bracelet, which I thought was super thoughtful and sweet.

Look for someone who will tailor to your specific needs and come up with individualized plans.

What do you hope to get out of this? How much time are you willing to dedicate to achieving your goals? How do you learn best? Are there any obstacles you foresee? What is most important for you in a tutor?
