Elementary Tutoring

My service stands out because I do not give up on my students. I teach them until they understand what they are confused about. I find ways to make the sibject fun so that they can enjoy it! I make them feel that they have the ability to understand the material even if it takes them a little more time than other students. I always meet students where they are at without making them feel unintelligent. Growing up with 4 sisters I had to tutor them and I helped them gain confidence in their ability to do well in school. I now study the Bible with women from ages 13-25 weekly and also mentor 2 women. The Bible can be an intimating book but I help the women I study with to approach the Bible with confidence that they will be able to understand it. Sometimes if they don't understand it right now I don't move on until they feel confident about what the Bible is saying. Not only do I do this on a weekly basis I also go to university full-time as a Philosophy major and am anticipating graduating in a year.

I love when students gain confidence about the work they are doing when they understand the material being taught. Seeing students happy, makes me happy! I have seen women filled with so much joy when they see that the Bible is something that they can understand. I know that if I can do this women, I can surely do the same for my students of any age!
