Words are powerful. I love teaching students how to be empowered by correct usage of the English language. I love reading and writing, but it's wonderful when students begin to enjoy it as well and see how mastering the language will benefit them in the future.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I enjoy getting to know the strengths and challenges of each student through discussion and informal assessments. I like to understand the students' data, such as Lexile score for ELA, then evaluate the ranking with grade-level peer average with the student. We set academic goals together and work on tracking those through assessments and activities.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rate is $65/hour. I have been teaching for 3 years and hold a Master's degree, a credential with the state of California in Education and I am credentialed to teach students with Mild/Moderate disabilites.
