My enthusiasm for teaching languages is rooted in my own experience of studying and learning Italian in my twenties. I have been teaching English Language for over two decades to students of all ages and from many linguistic backgrounds. About half of my teaching experience took place in Italy, where I worked as an EFL instructor, opened and co-directed a new language school.

During my decade long sojourn in Italy, I progressed from a zero beginner student to becoming fluent in Italian and returned to the US to teach Italian language and culture to university students.

I possess a single subject credential in English from the State of California and a Master's Degree in Education. I have participated in multiple professional development training seminars geared at preparing English Learners to become skilled and confident writers.

Language and writing are two core passions that define my own personal development. As a teacher/tutor, I employ the insight of a second language learner, a bicultural citizen, and a traveler. I aim to foster connections between students and their world toward the objective of cultivating curiosity and confidence. This achievement will accompany their learning far beyond the classroom. With an acute awareness of the spectrum of learning styles, I am devoted to increasing opportunities for all students to engage and succeed.
