Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process with the student is to break down mathematical equations in order to simplify problems so that my students can learn fundamentals to solving any math problem that comes their way, improving their confidence and their grades.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended UC San Diego and majored in mathematics and economics. I also tutored my peers at the college level in math classes and have a lot of fun with it. I can promise that your grades will improve and my goal is for you to get an A in your math class.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My prices depend on how far I have to travel to help tutor. Prices will be slightly cheaper if the tutoring is done online and will be a little bit more expensive if you're more than 20 miles away from my location in Palos Verdes. If you're able to travel to my location, prices will be cheaper, as well.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching by helping my friends and their math classes and Soum that took off into a regular activity. My business is born out of the demand from my peers.
What types of students have you worked with?
I worked worked with students ranging from elementary school to advanced college courses. There aren't any math problems that I'm not familiar with and I'll be able to teach tips and tricks to simplify and create a deeper understanding to math equations.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice would be to hire someone you are comfortable with and someone you feel will be able to help you in the long run not just with your current math course but to set you up to be successful in the future.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
You should think about what it is you were struggling with the new math classes and which problem sets are the most difficult for you. Also think about what your desired outcome is from receiving private tutoring. My goal is to get you an A in your math class.
