Creating high-quality, student-centered education for all students in an energetic, innovative, culturally inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment is essential to me as a teacher. This kind of environment cultivates students’ character and academic skills. Throughout my ten-plus years of teaching, I know this is the kind of environment that is critical for students’ success.
As a teacher, having a growth mindset is invaluable. Because of this, I have applied various instructional theories and technology to enhance students’ engagement and achievement. I create rigorous lessons using the Depth and Complexity Strategies and Webb’s Depth of Knowledge to establish the context in which students can express the depth and extent of their learning. Inquiry-based lessons provide students with the necessary materials to collaborate and discover the answer to the problem in various ways. Designing interactive lessons is essential to enhance students’ skills, motivation, curiosity, and resilience to succeed in their future, enabling them to be confident, knowledgeable future leaders.
