About
I help students get back to having good grades again through my academic coaching programs.
Students receive understanding in reading, writing and math to the point that allows them to move onto the next level each year as well as learning and exhibiting the behaviors that support their learning as well as developing the executive functioning skills that they need in order to focus, persevere through challenging content, be self-disciplined and much much more.
As a student myself, I struggled immensely from K-12 and so from my own direct experience as a child not receiving what I needed, I now know what students need in every predicament they encounter. As an Educator of 19 years, I now know what challenges teachers face which can present the problems that students encounter and as a parent of 13 years, I also know the challenges that parents go through which can present the problems that students encounter, giving me a wide range of capability to help assist you and your child back to them having good grades with the right components in place.
I understand children and the difficulties they face, I understand teachers and the difficulties they face, and I understand you, the parent, and the difficulties you face and with compassion and strong dedication, I bring my all to the clients that I serve.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In the beginning, I build relationship with the student. I get to know their likes and dislikes, listen to what they’re struggling with and start by assessing them and finding where they are at academically while observing their ways of working while showing them I care and am there for them. We then begin working on their highest needs using my own resources and strategies that will help them most.
Sessions are in-person or via webcam if need be.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a California Credentialed Teacher for K-12 students and have 16 years experience in education (All types of schools including public schools, charter schools and private schools). I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Developement as of 2006.

How did you get started teaching?
I began working with K-6 graders in an after-school program, called Discovery Club through San Juan Unified. After working with students for 8 years through this program and doing my coursework at CSU Sacramento, I began teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types: ADD, ADHD, students with medical struggles including diabetes and depression, second language learners, visual and auditory students as well as severely low academic students and above grade-level students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise a student or parent seeking services, to be sure they feel that they can get along with the educator who’s going to help them, heard and concerns understood and addressed as well as being assessed in the beginning to verify for high quality instruction and coaching. I would also advise them to be sure that whomever will be assisting them through progressing in academics is guaranteeing there will be consistent communication and collaboration through the process of learning and improving.
