Mrs. Melissa Cook is a wonderful math tutor. She helps my kids a lot. During the covid we had online school for about a year and my kids math skills went down so much.
When we started to work with Mrs. Melissa she created a plan (different for each kid) which helps to improve math every day. My kids started to feel math it is not so hard for them anymore. I like she gave my kids a homework which they should do everyday. Since school doesnt provide a homework at all now.
I am very glad Mrs. Melissa are working with my kids. Highly recommended.

Melissa has been a great tutor for our 5 year daughter over the last 6 months. She comes to each session with a prepared lesson in which we can measure our daughters progress. We appreciate her expertise and recommendations on learning, and she also takes into account our considerations on lesson planning. Melissa is very warm, personable, and caring with our entire family.

    Frequently asked questions

We will set up a free comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and interview to determine goals, assess student needs and discuss lesson plans. We make arrangements for weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly sessions online or in person, whatever works best.
It includes over 20 years of extensive experience as a teacher in the San Diego area, partnering as an after-school learning center manager/director, and founding the tutoring company in 2021. I tutor all subjects including English, Spanish, Math, Reading, and test preparation.
Pricing is extremely reasonable and affordable, suited to the needs of the student and the family. It will vary according to the student's curriculum, number of lessons, time commitment, and length of sessions. The initial evaluation is free of charge. Discount will apply for long-term contract commitment.

I started teaching at an after-school learning center as assistant director and manager in the year 2000. Prior to that, I was a stay-at-home mom and home-school teacher.

I've worked with students who are falling behind, at grade level or extremely advanced, students with ADHD, autism, ASD, and students with developmental disabilities. Ages range from toddler to adult, preschool to college grade levels.

Oh, I really enjoyed a recent Serve Day with the Church at Rancho Bernardo! We spent a Saturday morning at Kit Carson Park in Escondido, California sprucing, sweeping, cleaning, planting, painting, working with some wonderful children and families, and enjoying fellowship. It was a tremendous opportunity for personal growth and building a sense of community.

"Learning How to Learn" is a motto that I emulate! I don't tell them what to do but, rather, show them how to do it and they will remember it for a lifetime. You should make sure we have what you're looking for, and find the right fit. Work as a team! Students, parents, and tutors need to have a connection that feels right. Education is one of the most important decisions you'll ever make!

The questions that I may ask potential students are:

    What are your personal goals?

What do you like about learning? What do you dislike?

In what areas do you excel?

In what areas do you need guidance?

How much time are you willing to commit each day to advance your progress?
