I am passionate about helping students learn and get the academic results that they want. My experience in tutoring is in the areas of Math, Reading, and Computer Science with students in high school, middle school, and elementary since 2016. What differentiates me is my preparedness for the tutoring session, where I ensure that you are getting great value for your time. I seek to create a personalized session based on your needs and to understand your goals and needs. I look forward to getting to know you and doing my best to help you succeed.
I enjoy helping students understand a concept that they previously found difficult and confusing. The process of preparing for a session and being able to customize the lesson to help a student is what I find rewarding. I also seek to make the session enjoyable, and I know that I have succeeded when the session ends but the student wants to continue solving problems.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process involves discussing through email beforehand regarding the material that a student needs help on. By identifying the student's goals, struggles, and current material, I am able to prepare lesson plans customized to each student. My goal for the session is to not just help complete assignments but to provide students insight into the questions they are solving so that they can understand more complex topics. For each session, I come prepared with notes and provide simple take home assignments that can help lead students to develop their understanding.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a Senior at Cal State Long Beach where I am majoring in Computer Science. For my university curriculum, I have completed high level math courses including Calculus, Discrete Math, Algebra, and Trigonometry. As a tutor, I have worked with elementary school, middle school, and high school students in the areas of reading and math. For my format training, I have completed the training by a Long Beach volunteer organization, BLAST, in one-on-one tutoring as well as volunteered as a Reading Tutor for the City of Santa Fe Springs Library.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing starts at $25 per hour. I seek to provide the best lesson for my students by coming prepared with notes so that students can develop a greater understanding and insight into their subjects.
How did you get started teaching?
I began as a volunteer for the City of Santa Fe Springs library where I tutored elementary students on reading and writing. After I worked as a math tutor for elementary, middle school, and high school students in the areas of Algebra and Trigonometry. I also volunteered for a Long Beach organization, Better Learning for All Students Today, where I tutored an elementary student in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with elementary, middle school, and high school students based on volunteer and professional experience. Students that I have worked with include elementary students who are falling behind their peers, middle school students who are struggling with the increasing complexity of their math classes, and high school atheletes who need to boost their GPA for a scholarship. The students I work best with are those who have clear goals of what they want to achieve and seek to clearly communicate what they need help on.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event that I am fond of is when I volunteered as a tutor for a Long Beach organization known as Better Learning for All Students. At an after school program, I helped tutor elementary students in math and was able to tutor a group of five students at once. What make this an event that I am fond of, is that the students stated that it was the first time that they found math fun as I was able to help each student progress based on their needs.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise students to clearly communicate all the subjects that they are seeking help with so that a teacher can ensure that they are the best fit for you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should consider what other subjects they may be struggling with as to ensure that their chosen teacher is the best fit for them.
