What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I listen to the student, determine what the student knows, needs to know, doesn't know, and develop a program that meets the students goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a retired teacher with credentials in math and technology. I have a masters degree in education technology. I learned electricity and electronics from the navy. I spent two years in seminary and worked as a religious leader in communities around the country.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $50 per week. Students have unlimited access to me. The only limitation is determining the schedule appropriate meeting times.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always wanted to be a teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages, but prefer third graders and above. I have helped adults with preparation for professional exams as well.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Students need to want improve their academic standing. If they have that desire, I can help them.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How can I make the teacher happy? All other behaviors and attitudes fall in line after considering this question.
