About this tutor

I am a local surfer here in Nayarit, Mexico who loves to share the beautiful sounds of our language and help break down linguistic concepts in a passionate and engaging manner. Having had lived in Spain and Argentina, I have a global perspective on Spanish dialects and can ensure the Spanish that is taught is true to what is most beneficial to anyone embarking on learning Spanish. I beleive that language is not only a form of communication, but reflective of a people's culture, and history of thought. Having studied both English and Spanish in University, I have a passion for combining correct grammar and pronunciation with my life's taste in music and stories to share.

I love sharing language because it opens doors to connecting with people, and creating memories and experiences that cannot be bought. Traveling can only take one so far inot the heart of another people, but I see how language is the true bridge to all these gaps in our world.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to begin with reviewing goals and expectations to focus our time on the needs of my student. Once I meet the student and gage what level they are at at the Spanish language, I like to jump right into conversation and flow.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have workied with students from ages 9 to 60, and think that it is never too late or early to play with linguistic ideas and build a passion for Spanish dialects and culture.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would recommend looking for someone who can make you love the language while learning it, as it improves retention of information.
