About
I am a current medical student at Stanford University pursuing a dual MD-PhD degree. My areas of expertise lie within biology and chemistry, although I am also happy to assist with MCAT test preparation or medical school applications.
Having grown up in the Bay Area (Hillsborough), I understand the unique challenges and pressures facing students here. I believe that having a tutor who has been through a similar situation to their students is a significant benefit in building trust and mutual understanding. I have tutored privately, with the San Mateo Boys and Girls Club of America, and with East Palo Alto Academy. I've also mentored and guided three high school students through the college application process, two of whom are now attending Stanford University.
I graduated from Stanford in 2022 with Honors and Distinction as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, with a 4.1 weighted GPA (3.98 unweighted). I took the MCAT in May 2021, and received a 525 (99.8th percentile). I graduated from Crystal Springs Uplands School in 2017 with a GPA of 4.12 and scored a 36 on the ACT and 1600 on the SAT.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I prefer to be able to speak with new students on the phone or in person at least once before having a tutoring session with them. This ensures that we are a good fit and that I can prepare properly for our first session. I believe that proper planning and organization gives me the tools to properly adjust and adapt to whatever my student may need in a session.
By properly planning in advance for a tutoring session, I can anticipate the sorts of questions and challenges that may arise and therefore come up with a teaching plan. Therefore, I think that setting up a line of communication between myself and the student is important in ensuring that we both go into each tutoring session with a plan and a mutual understanding of what we need to work on.
