I am currently a 4th year Pure Mathematics major who has been placed on the Dean’s List every semester of university. I’ve been working as a tutor for 2 years now, assisting students from elementary to high school levels in mathematics. I am flexible on my approach depending on the needs of the student, whether it be quick refreshers or thorough reviews. After each session, I will provide a quick summary of what topics were worked on and my impressions on the student’s understanding. Outside of tutoring sessions, depending on my availability at the time, I am able to answer quick questions.

Currently I am a Golden Westminster student looking for opportunities to serve through education. I tutored grammar and religion for about a year in Nevada and enjoyed it immensely. I now wish to expand my horizon and try a variety of topics starting with Elementary math. I love watching and engaging with kids and hope to return to the teaching position some time soon. I have a creative way of planning the lessons including hands on work, fun and colorful ways to explain the lessons so to keep kids engaged in the work and encourage them to exercise and move around.

As a mom to 4 kids (elementary age through high school), I know the importance of patience and kindness when it comes to learning. With math, even more so. I focus on challenging kids who love math and also taking the student who says “I’m not good at math” and helping them discover they are more than capable. I have my degree in early childhood education with a minor in history and taught for five years before becoming a full time private tutor. I have been a tutor/homeschool teacher for the last 10 years, and during this time I have worked with students from pre-k- high school. I'm qualified to tutor multiple subjects, but specialize in writing/reading. I believe that every child learns differently, and I create lessons that focus on their strengths while working to strengthen their weaknesses. I do this through activities, games and content appropriate lessons.

I am a working professional with a very extensive education. I have a Masters in Business (MBA) and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. I am also constantly studying and learning more about various subjects including politics, history, business, etc. in my spare time. For my professional career, I am an analyst, a tutor, and a genealogist. I work very well with people, and teach and explain things in ways that are easy to understand.
