About
I am a retired high school English teacher with 23 years experience. I still have an active California Single-Subject Credential in English. My passion is making novels, plays and poetry, even the old classics, accessible to and fun for my students. I enjoy guiding students through the essay writing process. We can tackle any prompt. That includes literary analysis, autobiographical narrative and argumentive writing.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I take a few minutes to get acquainted with the student, including their grade level, classes, and goals. Then, I have them explain their exact academic need and specific due dates. That may include studying for a test or writing an essay. It's best for me to have a copy of the teacher's written prompt, study guide, or other assignment description. Then, we lay out a step by step plan on how to complete the assignment or study for the test. Of course, after the work is submitted, I want to get feedback.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While retired since 2016, I still possess an active Single-Subject Teaching Credential in English.
