About

[See Experience Below]

I believe in hard work and discipline. As a child I absolutely deplored school and task based learning, made endless excuses to avoid them if possible, and created an entire universe in my head to convince myself that it was the system or it was just not for me. It wasn't until many years later I realized that I was just plain lazy and my lack of success was my own doing. I believe that your child can succeed in school and I have the skills and experience to show them how. I utilize memory teqniques, spaced repetition, and deeper understanding to commit concepts and terminology to memory.

The absolute best part of tutoring is when you see someone start to believe in themselves and their ability if they choose to apply themselves.

A teacher must not only effectively convey the information in laymans terms, but must also make learning the material retain your attention. That is not to say learning should be fun, but it should be taught at the right pace for each student as to not overwhelm their individual endurance.

In cases of specific questions, a student will find it beneficial to know exactly what it is they don't understand before asking. Teachers are, despite how it might seem, not mind readers. First find out what you don't understand and then ask specifically for clarification. In the case that a student doesn't know where to begin, they are likely to have missed a foundational element. This is where the skills of a tutor can be utilized.
