About
Hello! My name is Jacob Williams and I am a Shelby Davis Scholar and recent graduate of the United World College in Mostar which followed the curriculum of the International Baccalaureate Degree Program with emphasis in Biology, Psychology, Chemistry, and French B (B2). Last year, I was accepted to Brown University with an intented concentration of Cognitive Neuroscience. Now, I am taking a gap year to focus on research, internships and the development of Refugee Integration Protocols for United World Colleges as a few of the initiatives I have taken up in addition to hopefully tutoring you. If you need any recommendations in terms of my previous professors, I would be happy to demonstrate full transcripts including detailed reports and points of reference.
Previously, I have experience in tutoring refugees (primarily from South Sudan) in Biology and creating a program for the development of integrative Western educational systems via the psychological adaptation of tutoring systems. Additionally, I have experience in terms of tutoring in IB Psychology.
The depth of my knowledge in Biology and Psychology is encaptured by the cirriculum of the International Baccalaureate which qualifies most students with top scores to surpass initial and secondary courses in Universities to a somewhat greater extent than AP courses at some Universities.
My passion in life is to pursue an MD PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience (Interdisciplinary between Biology/Neuroscience and Psychology) and to become a Neurosurgeon that develops biological diagnostic criteria for the prevention of misdiagnosis of major abnormal disorders, detailed to some extent in the thesis I wrote for my Baccalaureate Degree (Implications of Neurobiological Correlates to Schizophrenia: How can biological diagnostic procedures such as fMRIs and EEGs lead to the prevention of misdiagnosis of Schizophrenia).

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Finding a tutor that is right for you is an absolute must. You must be comfortable with your tutor, communicative with your tutor and above all, on the same page with your tutor. Find a tutor malleable to the right teaching style for you and someone who is able to communicate course materials to you in a comprehensible manner or else you are wasting your time, money and effort that you could be putting towards studying for the next exam independently.
