About

As someone with a passion for engineering and problem solving, I will tailor all learning specific to each individual's needs. I obtained my Bachleor of Science in Civil Engineering at UC Berkeley and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from UCLA. I apply math, engineering, physics, and chemistry on a daily basis at work.

I helped tutor high school students and college students while in high school and college. Currently, I work as a practicing structural engineer and license civil engineer for the state of California. I am also a Team Lead for ACE which is an organization that provides hands on experience in the construction industry for high school students. To summarize, I love learning and I love teaching.

I was struggling with Calculus for a while (got Bs on some assignments and I usually score high marks), but Josh made the concepts easy to understand. He broke it down and then helped me see the connections between each one. Got an A on my last midterm!

We worked on a worksheet for my algebra 2 class and Josh was very nice and helpful. 10/10 would recommend.

Josh was a great help for me during high school. He helped me during my AP Stats class and my pre-calculus class. I went from a C student to an A- student. I will admit it was not easy but Joshs individualized approach made sure that I had clarity and direction. Now I dont have to take a stats class in college because I passed the AP test.

We worked on the quadratic formula, and Joshua was really patient with me. I was not confident with learning this section in class and he broke it down step by step for me until I understood it. Thank you Joshua!

    Frequently asked questions

I will ask the student/parent to provide their current curriculum and what is their current goals. Once, I get an understanding where the student academics are and their goals, I will provide an aptitude test in order to understand how the student learns and their current level of understanding.

National AP Scholar (4s and 5s on all but one AP test)

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, UC Berkeley (2017)

Master of Science in Civil Engineering, UCLA (2019)

The reason I got into teaching was because I understand that students learn in many different ways. There were many instances in my life where someone limited me because of their perception of my intellect. Rather than trying to understand how I learned, some would give up without trying. These experiences pushed me to want to provide each student an opportunity which they may have not had.

I have worked with elementary, high school, and college students.

Ask the teacher to provide credentials and supporting documentation about their experience. It is key to know that the teacher is an expert in the field.
