About
My associate and I have over 30 years of combined experience teaching Tk-12th grade. We have taught in a number of settings such as informal after school programs and summer camps. We have also served in the private, charter, public, and religious school sector. We have experience working with every socioeconomic class. This experience helps us to relate to students as well as communicate clearly what a student will need to do to succeed. Between the two of us we have a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Masters degree in English, and teaching credential. We also have administrative experience as the former Dean of a middle school. Our goal is to help as many student's as we can for as long as we can. Character, confidence, academic success, and personal success all come with encouragement from adults and from hard work. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The process depends on what age group and subject we are teaching. However, a basic 3 minute check-in usually takes place at the beginning of each session where the student will identify strengths, areas they wish to grow, as well as what the student may find confusing about the subject or particular assignment. After the check-in we dive into the work.
