Hi! I’m Alister, an engineering student at Stanford University. I tutor math (grade K-12), physics & chemistry (high school), and language arts (grade K-8). I have four years of experience and love working with students to solidify understanding—once students truly grasp concepts, I find they start to really enjoy the subject. My tutoring style is flexible based on the students’ need.

My goal is to remove the stress that school causes and provide mentorship in a chill, peaceful manner. As a student myself, I can relate to academic struggles and hardships, and will never criticize mistakes or poor performance.

I believe that the process of learning should be fun for both the student and the teacher, since if either party doesn't enjoy the lessons, there will be no effect. This is why I've chosen online tutoring in general, because it's easier to have more effective lessons one on one. I'm also an international physics olympiad winner, which comes with a lot of learning on my part as well, so I can confidently say I know the process well. Teaching gives me a special kind of satisfaction. Knowing that you've helped someone gain knowledge and understand something new is a really wonderful feeling....

As a current English Teacher with 12+ years of tutoring experience, all 6-12 material is still quite relevant and fresh in my mind. I have worked with a variety of ages, from sixth grade all the way to seniors in high school. I get to know each student individually as well as get to know their personal goals. I will provide quick, concise responses for those in a hurry, and slow, methodic teaching for those looking to understand the material on a deeper level. I welcome parent feedback and will alter my methods based on parental goals as well.

I am a soon to be 20 year old student at Boston University. As a screenwriting major and English minor, I have an adoration for both learning and teaching writing, particularly to lower/middle school students. From my work being chosen for BU's "Palimpsest", an online publication that highlights outstanding undergraduate writing", and my position on the Dean's list, my affinity for language is one that translates to success. My passion for writing started at a young age, so I would love to help foster that kind of passion in your child....

I am a recent college graduate, with a BA in English and International Affairs. I am passionate about literary analysis, comparative literature, essay crafting, and reading comprehension. I have experience with peer reviewing in high school, college and graduate-level courses, and have studied topics from professional writing to Shakespeare. I am looking to develop the same skills I possess in students, and thus to cultivate a greater understanding and appreciation for literature.

I have been teaching English for 36 years. I hold Ph D in English. (Linguistics) Students who are unable to write English, attend classes with me and start writing grammatically correct sentences and paragraphs within a period of 8 weeks. I help students learn Vocabulary and Spoken English. I also teach Reading skills.
