About
My Name is Erlene Geller and I recently retired after 23 years of teaching. It
has been my privilege to have taught in a few multicultural communities. I grew up in a
culturally diverse community in the greater Los Angeles area and throughout my teaching career
it was my goal to give back to these communities. I tried to translate my message to those young
people what I had learned throughout my life experience which was to never stop trying or
believing in their ability to accomplish their goals and achieve their dreams. My philosophy as an
educator is that all students are capable of learning. I aspired to not only prepare students
academically to be able to compete in a global society, but to grow emotionally and personally.
Teaching is one of the most important professions and there is an important responsibility to
teach students to believe they have value in the world.
