About
What makes me excited about my profession is helping my students learn and achieve their goals. It is absolutely wonderful when my former students come back to tell me how much they learnt from my teaching.
I have been teaching since 1996 until I retired in 2009 to travel and get to know different cultures. I am a reading specialist, and I can speak French, and understand basic Italian and Portuguese. I can read signs in Catalan.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I use English language to introduce myself to new students. Then I ask questions and analyze answers to find out where the student is at, regarding subject knowledge. Then we start from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Single Subject 6- 8 Middle schools and 9-12 High Schools. I also have a Masters Degree in Teaching Arts, with Reading Emphasis.
I also have experience teaching adults.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No, I don't but, for my experience and knowledge I would expect to get paid a lot more than minimum wage.
How did you get started teaching?
When I moved to this country in 1991, I was taken by a friend who taught ESL/ELD in Santa Ana, Orange County, to volunteer in her classes. I fell in love right away and signed up to take several mandated testing. Then I attended National University to get my teaching credentials and Masters Degree.
