A’s With Ashley
About
I am passionate about making connections and forming long lasting relationships with students and families I work with. It is my goal for each of my students to not only become more confident in their learning ability over time, but to enjoy gaining new knowledge. I believe everyone of my students has unique talents and gifts that we can discover through our tine together.
My favorite part about working with students is when we discover together new ways to approach problems. Not every student responds to the same method of teaching. I am always happy to explain problems through pictures, diagrams or use a real life example. Finding what approach works for each student helps me to learn more about them and will guide us to more productive sessions later on.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During my first session with a student I will bring a grade level placement exam to determine what concepts they have already mastered or need to review. My goal is for each student to feel comfortable with their grade level material. Students who are able to demonstrate grade level standards will move on to higher level math concepts in future tutoring sessions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my Associates Degree in Sociology from Saddleback College in May 2020.
I am currently enrolled in my senior year at the University of California Irvine.
For the past two years I have worked with students in grades 2-10. I am familiar with the standards of each grade and have had experience tutoring math, English, science and history.
