About
As a senior in college, I am very familiar with the math and writing skills that your student is currently learning. This enables me to quickly evaluate areas of strength and weakness that I then use to develop an individualized learning plan. I often find that even the brightest students have small "holes" or "gaps" in what they have learned. While these conceptual gaps may not seem very large at first, as more complex concepts are added, a student's ability to understand more difficult material begins to fail. My goal is to fill any learning gaps and reinforce the knowledge they have in order to ensure they have a solid in-depth understanding of the material they need to know.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As a recently graduated honors/AP high school student, I am very familiar with the math, English, Spanish and the science skills that your student is currently learning. This enables me to quickly evaluate areas of strength and weakness in your child and develop a learning plan for them. I often find that even the brightest students have small "holes" or "gaps" in what they have learned. While these conceptual gaps may not seem very large at first, as more complex concepts are added, a student's ability to understand more difficult material begins to fail. My goal is to fill any learning gaps, reinforce the knowledge they have, and to make sure they have a solid in-depth understanding of the material they need to know.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored for five years, including AP and honors courses. I am a psychology major at the University California Irvine and I excell at explaining concepts in ways tailored to how individual students lear.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $35/h, but I am always open to working to accomodate your price range.
How did you get started teaching?
Tutoring has always been a joy for me, and over time working my skills into a buisness have awarded me years of experience in teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students K-12, including some with learning issues.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Teaching factoring and the basics of graphing quadradic equations to a client who experienced brain damage in an accident and seeing them figure out some complex problems with only gentle guidence.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Know what you don't know, so your tutor can get straight to the point helping you. I find it relativly easy to find the parts of a concept students do not understand, however it is always easier when a student tells me 'I need help with X.'
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Can my teacher help me outside of classtime? Is this a single point issue, or am I having trouble in general with this subject?
