What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Cordial exploratory meeting with student; determine his/her level of skills, make sure that chemistry would work well, and identify most urgent short-term needs for either study, work, personal interest.
Then lay out short-term plan, meeting schedule and frequency, and milestones for a) student to determine tangible progress, and b) tutor to determine need for adjustments.
Most importantly, make learning easy and fun, and provide student with additional cultural, day-to-day, and colloquial knowledge
