About
I have been playing guitar for 11 years now and I wanna teach you why it is the best thing that has happened to me! I studied four years in the El Paso Music Conservatory under Mac Goldsbury. I also studied composition under Osvaldo Mendoza in the same conservatory for three years. While I have learned music theory and have applied to my playing for years now, I believe that the best teacher is the ear. Music in my opinion should be fun and entertaining to learn about. While I will teach you about music theory and how music works I will also put an emphasis on playing and learning how improvise. Thank you so much and see you soon!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It depends on the student. I can work with students from the beginner stage all the way to the advanced stage. First, I assess my student's ability in playing guitar and/or composing and if they know how to read music. Then depending on where my student is I will pick it up from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied four years at the El Paso Conservatory of Music and have played numerous live gigs throughout the course of my music career. Now I am attending Santa Monica College studying music full time. In total I have 8 years of music education under my belt.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
One hour of tutoring is 45$.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in 2018. At the job I was working in at the time a coworker learned of my music experience and asked me if I could teach him a lesson. Since then I got hooked and have been tutoring ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from ages 10-28. Also students that are completely new to music and do not know how to read music. I have also worked with students who were in college and needed help playing a solo they had trouble with.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently I transcribed "All The Things You Are" performed by Charlie Parker. Transcribing this performance helped me tremendously in expanding my jazz knowledge and overall music knowledge.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
A piece of advice I would give a student looking to hire a guitar tutor would be to see if there are videos of siad guitar tutor playing. That way you can see if they are the kind of tutor you want!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I think a student should make a list of the questions that they have that way they don't forget their questions before talking to a teacher about their needs.
